Rework / finishing at Deichl

When defective components occur, every minute counts. Production downtime, delivery bottlenecks and unnecessary scrap can quickly drive up costs. With our professional rework, we ensure that affected parts are reworked quickly, in a structured manner and to the required quality standard.

Our employees work to clearly defined specifications, aligned processes and unambiguous criteria. This often allows components to be returned to the production process instead of being lost as scrap. With complete documentation and transparent traceability, you always have an overview of status, quantities and results.

The result: reduced downtime, lower scrap costs, secured delivery capability, and reliable rework that integrates seamlessly into your production processes.

What you gain

Delivery capability instead of downtime
Make parts usable again quickly instead of waiting or scrapping them.

Lower follow-up costs
Standardized, controlled rework so finishing does not create new defects.

Clear traceability
Status, quantities, anomalies and results are clearly documented.

Flexibly scalable
Whether a short-term bottleneck or a large-scale project: we provide the right capacity as needed.

The four building blocks at a glance

Reduce scrap

Defective parts do not have to be scrapped automatically. Professional rework keeps them usable.

Safeguard production

Rework ensures that affected parts are available again quickly and production interruptions are avoided.

Conserve resources

Rework helps preserve components, use resources efficiently and avoid unnecessary re-production.

Identify root causes of defects

Professionally documented rework provides reliable data for root-cause analyses and process optimization.

How an order works

1) Clarification:
component to be reworked, defect pattern, scope of rework, quantity, start date, storage locations, containment action required

2) Create work instruction:
specifications, characteristics/drawing, defect catalog, sample part, limit sample, tools, workflow, labeling, approval of the work instruction and briefing of employees

3) Ramp-up:
short pilot, then release for the quantity

4) Execution:
on-site rework, part labeling, ongoing monitoring, digital data capture

5) Completion:
result + daily documentation / summary

Who this is especially important for

  • Production operations under high delivery pressure and with tight buffers

  • Series with recurring defect patterns

  • Situations where parts cannot simply be blocked

  • Areas where traceability is required internally/externally

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Which rework tasks do you handle specifically?
Typical tasks include deburring, filing, grinding, drilling out, bending/straightening (depending on the part), cleaning and painting to specification. Always with clear OK/NOK segregation and defined criteria.
Do you work directly at our plant?
Yes. We explicitly offer on-site rework so parts can return to the process quickly and unnecessary logistics are avoided.
Can you build fixtures?
Yes, if it improves repeatability. We can create simple fixtures so finishing runs stably and reproducibly.
How quickly can you start?
If it is urgent, we clarify the setup quickly: defect pattern, quantity, target date, specifications. For escalations, you can reach us via the 24/7 hotline.
Do you provide daily updates?
As soon as the inspection data capture is running, the results can be viewed promptly in the DQ portal, and the reporting is then available online at any time.
Do you combine rework with sorting/inspection?
Yes, the components are inspected, reworked if required, and then inspected again to ensure the effectiveness of the rework.
